Descripción
Playa Rincón tiene cuatro kilómetros de arena blanca al final de un camino de tierra, y la mayoría de los visitantes la ve durante una hora desde un bote. Esta es la versión por tierra, con conductor y guía local, y con suficiente tiempo para ir más allá de los primeros cien metros de arena. El día comienza a las 9:30 am en Las Galeras. La primera parada es La Hondonada, un arco natural tallado en los acantilados donde el Atlántico se abre paso a través de la roca. Después, una casa típica donde la familia cultiva café y cacao, y te mostrará cómo el grano pasa de la mazorca a la taza. Después de eso, Playa Rincón en sí — y la parte que casi todos se pierden. Caño Frío es el río de agua fría que desemboca en el extremo más alejado de la playa. Caminas por su orilla unos diez minutos hasta las piscinas naturales y nadas en agua dulce con el mar a cien metros detrás de ti. El almuerzo es comida dominicana típica servida en la arena. De vuelta en Las Galeras a las 3:00 pm. Andrés Pérez lleva quince años guiando en esta costa, está certificado por el Ministerio de Turismo y pertenece a AGTUGE, la asociación local de guías.

Mostly a driving day with two short walks: a few minutes over uneven rock at La Hondonada, and about ten minutes along the riverbank at Caño Frío to reach the pools. Suitable for most fitness levels and for children. The last stretch of road to Playa Rincón is unpaved and bumpy. There are no toilets at La Hondonada.

Isabel D'Mel año pasadoMy friend and I booked the 7 beaches walking tour ans had a great day with Andrés - he is from the area and knows everyone! He even helped us to arrange transport to and from Samana at a good price after we realised going by bus would not work. Andrés knows all about the beaches, advised us on where was best to swim and where was not safe, told us a lot about the plants and trees. He even cracked open an almond to show us - it was tasty! The lunch was good and we had time to go to where the river meets the sea which was beautiful and refreshing to cool off before heading back. Highly recommend!
