Description
Hacienda La Suerte is a working equestrian center at La Barbacoa, in the hills behind Las Terrenas. This is its beach ride: out of the yard, down through the countryside and onto the sand, where the pace can open up. Two lengths. About an hour and a half at $65 per person, or about two hours at $75. Riders who can sit a canter are welcome to canter; riders who would rather stay at a walk keep the same route at their own speed. This is not a beginners' ride. The hacienda works mainly with people who have ridden before, and each horse is matched to what its rider can actually do — so say honestly what you can do when you book, because the ride is built around it. The weight limit is 90 kg. If you have never been on a horse, ask about the one-hour beginners' ride on the hacienda's own land instead.

Accessibility & Requirements
Maximum rider weight for this ride is 90 kg. The hacienda works mainly with people who have ridden before, and the pace is set by what each rider can do — tell them your real level when you book. If you have never ridden, ask about the one-hour beginners' ride on the hacienda's own land, which stays at a walk and has a 100 kg limit. There is little or no phone signal at the stables, so replies to messages can take a while.

Amazing horse riding! The horses were so nice, just pull a little bit and they do what u want. Nice french girl instructors. Ride trough a jurrasic park forrest, swim trough a river, canter on the beach or in the jungle. Perfect.See this review on Google
Very enjoyable & eventful afternoon ride through the forest, which offers some scenic views when you rise above the canopy. My very well trained horse was able to handle my limited skill (and similarly my guide handle my limited french). Hotel pick up and return service was also convenient.See this review on Google
Just got back from a trip to the Dominican Republic, and my highlight was certainly the 3 hour horseriding trek through the forest with Hacienda la Suerte. Horses are very well taken care of, are lovely to ride and the people working there (Valérie and Lou were our guides) were fantastic. The scenery is stunning as well, and if you're an experienced rider looking to canter and gallop there will be plenty of that! I had so much fun and can't recommend this place enough.See this review on Google
