Description
Nano and Vega rent out most of what moves in Las Terrenas. The fleet runs from a scooter you can park anywhere, through enduro motorbikes and two-seat buggies, up to a Polaris 900 and a six-seat Polaris Ranger, and there is a golf car and a Geely GX3 Pro if you would rather have a roof. You hire by the day, and the machine is yours — you decide where it goes. What you get with it is a helmet and third-party liability cover. Fuel is not included, so you fill it yourself, and the utility vehicles — the buggies, quads, golf cars — do not carry comprehensive cover, which matters if you are planning dirt tracks rather than the beach road. Bring your driving licence: the person at the wheel needs one, though there is no age limit on who rides along. Prices move with the season and with how many days you take. A scooter for a day sits at the bottom of the range and the six-seat Ranger at the top, with everything else in between. It is worth asking for a longer hire if you are staying a week, because the daily rate comes down. The shop is on Ntra. Sra. del Carmen Street in Las Terrenas, and they speak Spanish, French, English and Italian. The same outfit runs guided quad and buggy tours into the mountains, if you would rather follow someone who knows the tracks.
