Rent a 125cc or 150cc scooter or motorcycle in Las Terrenas from Jessie Rent Cars, a family-run rental company working across the Samaná peninsula since 1998 and trusted by around 2,000 customers a year. The bikes are DM and Loncin models, automatic, running on premium gasoline and carrying two people, and nearly all of them are only a few weeks old. The rate is US$22 per day and falls the longer you ride: US$20 a day for a week, US$18 for two weeks, US$16 for three and US$14 a day from four weeks on, with rentals longer than a month priced on request. Helmets and insurance are included, there are no hidden fees and assistance is available 24/7. A refundable US$100 security deposit is required, in cash or as a hold on a VISA or Mastercard, and it is released as soon as the bike comes back undamaged. Payment in cash or by card, in US dollars, euros or Dominican pesos. To rent you must be at least 18 and show a valid driver's license plus a second ID (passport or national ID card). The office is on Calle El Carmen, in front of Hotel Puerto Plaza in Pueblo de los Pescadores, open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 6pm and closed on Sundays and public holidays, with WhatsApp bookings answered 24/7. The team speaks Spanish, English and French, and will point you to the beaches and back roads worth riding.
