Playa Rincón is rated one of the top beaches in the Caribbean, and it stays that way because it is hard to reach: 40 kilometres and about an hour from the town and port of Samaná. Emilio drives you there himself in an air-conditioned minivan, through the lush Samaná Peninsula and its small villages and countryside scenery. The beach is remote, virgin and pristine — a hideaway for swimming, sunbathing and doing nothing under the Caribbean trade winds. On the way back the tour finishes at the little river of Caño Frío, where you rinse the salt off with a swim in cool fresh water. Price is per adult and depends on where you are picked up: $65 from Samaná hotels, $65 from Las Galeras hotels, $85 from Las Terrenas hotels, and $65 from the Samaná cruise port. Children up to 12 years old pay $32. Minimum 2 adults. From hotels the tour lasts 6 to 7 hours; from cruise ships, 3 to 4 hours. For groups of 3 to 6 people the price includes a long chair, lunch, Cuba Libre, soft drinks and natural water. For 2 people, soft drinks and natural water are included.

We were a group of 7, 4 adults and 3 kids, and had a wonderful day with prompt service and were able to make it back to the ship with time to spare (and have a gorgeous day that gave us the opportunity to avoid the mass of idiots on our cruise ship)See this review on Google

Patrick Mitchell8 years agoOPTIMA provided us with excellent transportation when needed and also guides great excursion tours. We had a driver waiting for us at the Ferry in Samana where the driver then brought us to our apartment to drop off our luggage and change before heading out to a horseback riding excursion at the Limon Waterfall. I was fearful that this would be too much but they handled all those moving pieces effortlessly. Emilio showed great customer service.See this review on Google
