My family and I had an amazing time diving with Profundo Blue Dive Center! Thierry and Pascal were amazing, always laughing and joking with us. I really appriciated all the effort they did to get all 10 of us diving as much as we wanted over the spam of 2 weeks (a decent amount even when the weather wasnt always the best). I would absolutely recommend this dive center!

The dive center is perfect for diving Las Terrenas area. Thierry is a great man and good humor. Well versed in diving, the areas around, and skill was perfect!! I reached out about 3 weeks prior, to set a dive for myself and friends. He was very accommodating and ready to set up to our needs. Arrival to area was easy to find, and my personal preference, NOT a tourist dive shop!! If you want to do a dive with about 30 people crammed into a boat, with not much attention, and a sales shop with trinkets, Profundo is not for you. If you want an actual dive experience with trained and focused people, that knows the area, currents, marine life, caves/caverns, and a simple life dive THIS IS THE PLACE. He made sure of our equipment (which had everything needed for our dives) was ready to go, boat crew was great assistance during dives, and return was relaxing. During the dives, he was always checking our air and took several photos for us. Safety was top most concern, and he went through briefing before we even left shop, then 2nd before each dive. I would highly recommend Profundo Blue as your 'go to' for diving north coast of the area! He can also set up advanced dives, snorkel, and several other excursions if wanted as well.

I had a fantastic experience with Profundo Blue Dive Center. The team is incredibly friendly and welcoming—you immediately feel at ease. I really appreciated their flexibility and relaxed approach, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. The small group diving is a huge plus. It feels personal, safe, and unhurried, and the dive masters genuinely care about every diver in the group. They are highly professional, knowledgeable, and great to dive with. If you’re looking for quality diving with a personal touch, Profundo Blue is an excellent choice. Highly recommended.

Description

Profundo Blue is a dive center on the oceanfront at the Afreeka Beach Hotel, on Punta Popy in Las Terrenas. The boat goes out to the Ballenas Islands, a site sheltered from the waves and the currents. There are four ways to get in the water. SNORKELLING (US$40): after the safety briefing and your gear, the boat takes you out to water no deeper than 4.5 metres, where tropical fish stay all year round; the boat stays with you throughout, so you can climb back on whenever you like, and there is drinking water on board. DISCOVERY DIVE (US$80): after a briefing at the center, your instructor takes you down for your first dive, in complete safety, at a protected site. DIVE (US$65) for certified divers. DOUBLE DIVE (US$110): two consecutive dives at two different sites in one morning, with a surface interval to change tanks. Groups are small - a maximum of four divers per instructor - so there is close supervision and the dives can be adapted to what you want to see. Private dives are available on request. The team attends in Spanish, English and French.
