Great tour of three beaches. 10 minute boat ride to the first beach. They have drinks, bring cash. You can also bring a cooler with drinks and snacks. 5 minute boat ride to the next beach, and a 5 minute walk through the jungle to the third. Food back on El Valle beach. Started at 10, got back about 2:30. Awesome beaches!

Alex’s tours are SO personal and enjoyable. He took the two of is us on a full day to Ermitano where he showed us hiking trails and alternate beaches that were very quiet. He took us to El Limon waterfalls as well and showed us around small farms and sights in the El Valle area. It was such a pleasant and thorough tour of everything this small village has to offer. He arranged for a private tour to Rincon as well. His English is excellent in a small town where most locals and other tour guides speak only Spanish. He took our preferences (dietary and activity preferences) in mind and customized his days with us as best as he could. He worked with our budget and quoted very reasonable prices for tours that were either private or very small group. I hope that every place we travel to we can find someone like Alex to show us what life is really like. For now at least we know if we are going back to Samana, we’ve got our guy.

Alex is a phenomenal tour guide!!! We highly recommend him! He is a reliable, trustworthy, respectful, and a highly professional person that my family and I can rely every time we visit the Dominican Republic. We have gone for the past 4 years and being that my husband and I have 3 children, obviously safety is our top concern. Every year we’ve gone, we feel extremely safe with Alex. He’s soft-spoken, patient, knowledgeable about the area (where to visit and where to steer clear; his top priority is his customer’s safety, not money) and an all-around amazing person. Every time we return, we make sure to use Alex for all of our endeavors.

Description

Salto El Limón is the waterfall people come to Samaná for — around forty metres of water dropping into a pool at the bottom of a green ravine. The pool is deep enough to swim in, and most of the time spent at El Limón is spent in it. The route in crosses the countryside behind the village, through farmland and tree cover, and the last part of the approach is done on foot. The ground is uneven and often muddy, which is why water shoes are on the list of what to bring rather than a suggestion. Food and non-alcoholic drinks are included, and a verified guide goes with the group. Pickup from your accommodation is included, so the day starts wherever you are staying rather than at the trailhead.
