Experiencia Samaná is a twelve-day private trip through the Dominican Republic put together by Viajar a Samaná: one night in the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo, ten nights in Las Galeras, private taxis between them, and guided days out across the peninsula. It is built around a couple — two travellers with their own guide, never shared with strangers. If you are coming as a family or as a group of friends, it works for up to six. You choose your own dates inside two windows: 25 September to 26 November, and 16 April to 16 June. DAY 1 · Arrival in Santo Domingo A private taxi is waiting for you at the airport and takes you to your hotel in the historic Colonial Zone, a central spot with a pool. The rest of the day is for resting. DAY 2 · Colonial Zone to Las Galeras The morning is free in the old city to change money or pick up a SIM card. At 1:00 pm the taxi collects you for the three-hour drive to Las Galeras, a village at the tip of the peninsula where the beaches are reachable on foot. DAY 3 · Playa Rincón and Caño Frío A route through local life out to a four-kilometre beach, the freshwater channel of Caño Frío, the cacao house, natural pools, and lunch facing the sea. DAY 4 · Playa Playita and local flavour A walk out to one of the quietest beaches in Las Galeras, and lunch at Casa Juana, a typical Dominican comedor. DAY 5 · Salto del Limón A hike through the forest to a forty-metre waterfall with a natural pool at the foot of it, and a typical lunch afterwards. DAY 6 · The seven beaches of paradise Cueva Duarte, a walk between wild beaches you can only reach on foot, lunch on the sand, and the way back by boat. DAYS 7 AND 8 · Free days Two days in Las Galeras with no schedule: beach, rest, and time to yourselves. A private boat trip to Playa Frontón and Playa Madama can be added here as an extra. DAY 9 · Los Haitises and Cayo Levantado Caves with Taíno rock art, sailing through the mangroves, and one of the best-known beaches in the Caribbean. DAY 10 · El Alto de la Loma Sea views over thick greenery, an infinity pool, and Dominican home cooking. The bridges of Samaná are the alternative. DAY 11 · A last unhurried day Pack, buy your souvenirs, and watch the sunset from Playa Grande. DAY 12 · Home Private taxi to the airport. Your evenings stay free throughout: you choose the restaurant you feel like each night.

Santo Domingo airport, on arrival. A private taxi is waiting for you and takes you to the hotel in the Colonial Zone. The following day the taxi collects you at 1:00 pm for Las Galeras.

Accessibility & Requirements

Private throughout: you are never grouped with other travellers. The trip is built around a couple, and a family or a group of friends of up to six can be arranged. Some days involve walking: a forest hike to the Salto del Limón waterfall, and a walk between the seven beaches with a boat back. Dates are chosen by the traveller inside two seasons: 25 September to 26 November, and 16 April to 16 June.
