Description
La Playita sits at the far end of the Samaná Peninsula, about 28 kilometres from the port of Samaná. Emilio drives you there in an air-conditioned minivan, through small typical villages and along the scenic coast of Samaná Bay. What you find is a small tropical beach of white sand and calm, crystal-clear water — good for swimming and excellent for snorkelling, with equipment available to rent on site. Looking out, the mountains and cliffs of Cabo Cabrón sit on the horizon. The tour also stops in Las Galeras, the small fishing village three kilometres away. Price is per adult and depends on where you are picked up: $55 from Samaná hotels, $75 from Las Terrenas hotels, and $55 from the Samaná cruise port. Children up to 12 years old pay $27. Minimum 2 adults. From hotels the tour lasts 6 to 7 hours; from cruise ships, 3 to 4 hours. For groups of 3 to 6 people the price includes a long chair, lunch, Cuba Libre, soft drinks and natural water. For 2 people, soft drinks and natural water are included. Snorkelling equipment is rented separately at the beach.

We were a group of 7, 4 adults and 3 kids, and had a wonderful day with prompt service and were able to make it back to the ship with time to spare (and have a gorgeous day that gave us the opportunity to avoid the mass of idiots on our cruise ship)See this review on Google

Patrick Mitchell8 years agoOPTIMA provided us with excellent transportation when needed and also guides great excursion tours. We had a driver waiting for us at the Ferry in Samana where the driver then brought us to our apartment to drop off our luggage and change before heading out to a horseback riding excursion at the Limon Waterfall. I was fearful that this would be too much but they handled all those moving pieces effortlessly. Emilio showed great customer service.See this review on Google
