We were a group of 7, 4 adults and 3 kids, and had a wonderful day with prompt service and were able to make it back to the ship with time to spare (and have a gorgeous day that gave us the opportunity to avoid the mass of idiots on our cruise ship)See this review on Google

Patrick Mitchell9 years agoOPTIMA provided us with excellent transportation when needed and also guides great excursion tours. We had a driver waiting for us at the Ferry in Samana where the driver then brought us to our apartment to drop off our luggage and change before heading out to a horseback riding excursion at the Limon Waterfall. I was fearful that this would be too much but they handled all those moving pieces effortlessly. Emilio showed great customer service.See this review on Google

Las Terrenas is 30 kilometres and about a 45-minute drive from the town and port of Samaná, and what waits there is 20 kilometres of almost uninterrupted beach. Emilio drives you over the lush mountains of the peninsula in an air-conditioned minivan, through small typical villages and tropical scenery. Las Terrenas has a distinctly European flavour — more than 6,000 expatriates live there, mostly French, Italian, Spanish and German — and the golden sand is lined with small restaurants, bars and cafes facing the clear Atlantic water. The day is yours: sunbathe, swim, move between beaches, and if you want, stop to shop in the village boutiques. Price is per adult and depends on where you are picked up: $60 from Samaná hotels, $75 from Las Galeras hotels, and $60 from the Samaná cruise port. Children up to 12 years old pay $32. Minimum 2 adults. From hotels the tour lasts 6 to 7 hours; from cruise ships, 3 to 4 hours. For groups of 3 to 6 people the price includes a long chair, lunch, Cuba Libre, soft drinks and natural water. For 2 people, soft drinks and natural water are included.
