She’s very knowledgeable about the area and is always happy to promptly answer your questions about lodging, activities, services, etc. I especially value her honesty regarding what the area offers, as well as what it lacks. Description
Walk the Ruta de las Casas Típicas, a guided route through Las Galeras built around its traditional houses of wood and palm board. The guide reads the architecture for you — how the houses were put together, what the materials say about the period they come from, and which details belong to this stretch of coast and nowhere else.
Some of the houses are still lived in, and their families tell you what the village was like before it became a beach destination. The route stays on flat ground and is walked at an easy pace, with stops along the way. It shows you a side of Las Galeras that the beach tours skip.
