Very nice place to start your Salto El Limon hike. You can choose to go by horse or walking. We opted to go walking for $600 pesos per person. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. He’s been doing this hike for over 30 years. Definitely recommend getting a tour guide at this location.

We had a wonderful day at Parador La Manzana. Communication through WhatsApp was excellent and Alberto made planning our visit to Salto El Limón incredibly easy. Before the tour, we enjoyed a delicious meal at the restaurant. The Dominican food was fantastic, and the arepitas de yuca were the best I've ever had! Our guide, Orlando, was outstanding. He made sure we went at a comfortable pace, always looked out for our safety, and genuinely cared about both us and the environment, even picking up litter along the trail to help keep the area beautiful. To top it all off, I accidentally left my favorite sunglasses at the restaurant. The staff found them and left a note on my car so I could retrieve them after the tour. That level of honesty and thoughtfulness says so much about the people here. Great food, great people, and an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend Parada La Manzana for both a meal and your Salto El Limón tour! If you going to do the hiking make sure to wear comfortable sandals or shoes with traction, bring water, and please bring a bag to dispose your garbage.

Super nice place to do El Salto del Limon tour. You can drop your car there, go for a local guide if you want (completely optional but highly recommended in my opinion) and have great lunch to recover energy after the walk/swim. Luis was our guide and he was super friendly and professional.

Description

Parada la Manzana is a family-run stop on the main road in El Limón and one of the classic starting points for the El Limón waterfall. From the back of the restaurant a trail leads to the falls, and you can go on horseback or on foot with one of the local guides, some of whom have been leading the route for decades. The walk is about half an hour and can be muddy and steep in places; at the bottom you can swim in the pool under the main fall. Back at the parada a Dominican country buffet is served, with yuca arepitas and fresh juices, and there is free parking and a small gift shop. Guides and horses are arranged on the spot or ahead by WhatsApp.
